Events and Calendar

The Events & Calendar page lets users view upcoming events in a calendar layout, browse event details, RSVP or register, and sync events to their personal calendar for easy planning.


How to Navigate the ‘Events and Calendar’ Page

  1. Log In – Make sure you’re signed into your ChurchPad account.

  2. From the left‐hand Navigation menu, select Events & Calendar.

  3. You will see a Calendar at the top (month view) and a list of All Events to the right or below, depending on your screen size.

  4. You may also see a section called My Upcoming Events, showing events you’ve already signed up for or that might be relevant to you.


Exploring the Calendar View

  1. Month Selector: At the top (e.g., June 2024), use the left/right arrows to move to previous or future months.

  2. Date Grid: Each date on the calendar is clickable if there are associated events. Hover or click on a date to view event details.

  3. All Events List: On the right side, you’ll see a chronological listing of events for the selected month(s).

  4. Filters. Filter events by date range. If no events are found, you might see a message like, “There are no more events on the selected date.”


Viewing Event Details

  1. Select any event from the calendar or the ‘All Events' list.

  2. You’ll land on the Event Single View page with details like:

    1. Title & Banner Image (e.g., Shout for Joy Church Service…)

    2. Description – provides an overview, schedule, or special instructions.

    3. Date & Time e.g., Thursday, Jun 14, 2024 | 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

    4. Location & Map – church address, map view, or driving directions link.

    5. RSVP Contacts – event coordinators or staff you can reach out to.

  3. Attendees – see how many people have already signed up (e.g., 8 attendees). You may see a few profile pictures plus “+20,” indicating additional attendees.


Indicating Your Attendance

On the event page, there are typically one or two main buttons:

  1. Attend or I want to Attend: Click this to register your attendance. Sometimes, it shows “Attending” if you’re already signed up. Once you click Attend (or I want to Attend), you may see: A pop‐up form to confirm your details (e.g., name, email, phone).

  1. Add Family: If family members are linked to your profile, you can toggle each one (e.g., spouse, children) to bring them along.

  2. Are you bringing someone else? Optionally add a friend or guest by toggling or clicking Add Guest. Fill in their name and contact info.

  • Email or phone validations: If the email is invalid, you’ll see a red error message. Correct it before continuing.

  1. Click Continue, then Submit to finalize. Once submitted, your name (and any added guests) will appear on the event’s attendee list.


Editing or Canceling Attendance

After you’ve confirmed attendance:

  1. The event page may show a button labeled Attending (or Registered).

  2. Clicking the down arrow or options next to it often reveals:

    1. Edit Attendance – update your RSVP (e.g., add or remove family, correct a guest’s name).

    2. Cancel Attendance –If you are no longer able to attend, selecting this option will remove you and your guests from the attendee list.


Checking Upcoming & Past Events

  1. My Upcoming Events: A dedicated list (often below the calendar or on a separate section) displaying events you’ve registered for or expressed interest in.

  2. Past Events: The system permits you to view past events for reference, but you can no longer interact with them..


Adding Events to Your Personal Calendar

You’ll see a link like ‘Add to calendar’ on the event detail page. Clicking it typically prompts you to:

  1. Choose from Google Calendar, iCal/Apple, Outlook, or another compatible calendar option.

  2. Save the event details (date, time, location) directly to your personal calendar app.


Sharing Events

On the event listing and detail pages, you’ll see a Share icon or button that lets you quickly:

  1. Copy the Event Link to your clipboard

  2. Share via social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) or email.
