Departments
The Departments module lets you explore all church departments—view their descriptions and leaders, and connect.
How to Navigate the Departments Page
Log In – Start by logging in to your Church’s ChurchPad account.
Select “Departments”. In the left-hand menu (or main navigation), look for Departments and click it to open the page.
You’ll see three main tabs across the top of the Small Groups page:
All Departments - Displays every Department available in your church. Each Department card shows a name, the number of members, an image, and a brief description.
My Departments - Lists the Departments you’re already a member of or have been approved to join.
Pending Departments - Shows any Departments you have requested to join but are still awaiting approval from the Department head.
Search & View Department Details
Search by Keyword – Use the Search bar to find a specific Department name or keyword (e.g., “Evangelism,” “Music,” etc.).
Open a Department Card –Click the three-dot menu, then click “View Department”. You’ll see details like Description or purpose of the Department, Meeting time(s), and Contact details for the Department head (email, phone, etc.).
Join a Department
From All Departments, click the three-dot menu on, then select the “Join Department” button. Alternatively, open “View Department,” then select “Request Join.”
A pop-up will ask you to confirm. Choose “Confirm & Join” to send your request to the Department Head.
Success Message. You’ll see a “Success!” alert indicating your request was submitted.
Pending Status. Until the Department Head approves, the Department will appear under “Pending Departments.” Once approved, it moves to “My Departments”.
“My Departments” & “Pending Departments”
My Departments – Contains all the Departments you’re officially part of. Access any Department’s details to see meeting times, upcoming events, or leader contact info.
Pending Departments – Displays requests awaiting approval. If needed, contact the Department head to expedite approval or check the status of your request.
Interact with Department Leaders
Contact Options – Inside the group detail page, you might see the Department Heads’ names with Mail or Call buttons.
Mail – Opens your email client to send a message directly to the leader.
Call – If viewing on a mobile device, tapping “Call” will initiate a phone call (or display the number).
By following these steps—opening Departments, searching or browsing, requesting to join, and checking My/Pending tabs—you’ll easily find and join the teams that interest you. Enjoy your involvement and stay connected with your church community!
