How to Navigate the ‘SMS Notification Template’ Page of the Messaging Settings Module in the Admin Portal
Log In – Make sure you’re signed into your ChurchPad account.
Click your Profile Icon at the top right.
From the dropdown menu, select "Admin."
You are now in the Admin Portal.
From the left sidebar menu, click on Settings.
Under the Settings menu, select the ‘Messaging’ option. By default, you will be landed to the SMS Page/ tab. The Page is divided into two areas
Credit Summary & Actions (top right)
Template List (center)

Credit Summary & Actions
At the top of the page, you’ll see:
Purchased Credit (e.g., 28,636)
Monthly Free Credit (e.g., 0)
A View History link (clock icon)
A Buy Credit button

To see your full history
Click View History.
The Purchase History modal opens, where you can search, filter, print, or export.
Click the X to close.

To buy credits
Click Buy Credit.
Choose your package (Bronze, Ruby, etc.) and follow the purchase flow.

Manage Your SMS Templates
Below the credit summary is your Template List. By default, you’ll see three rows:

Columns Explained
Name
The template’s identifier.
Three system templates are provided out of the box:
Auto Response Text Message: Replies when a user texts back (e.g., giving amount).
Subscribe Text Message: Confirmation when someone opts in (e.g., “Thank you for subscribing!”).
Unsubscribed Text Message: Confirmation when someone opts out (e.g., “You have been unsubscribed.”).
Content Preview
A truncated view of the first ~40 characters of the template.
Helps you quickly scan which message is which without opening each one.
Last Updated
Timestamp of the most recent save.
Useful for auditing or knowing when you last tweaked your wording.
Actions
View (primary button) opens a read‑only dialog.
▼ (dropdown) exposes Edit.
Searching & Filtering
Use the “Type to search…” field above the table to filter by:
Name (e.g., “Auto Response”)
Keywords in the content (e.g., “thank you,” “STOP”)
This is especially helpful if you later add custom templates or if your list grows.

Viewing a Template
Click View on the row.
The dialog shows the full message text exactly as your members will receive it.
Click Close when done.

Editing a Template
Click the ▼ next to View, then Edit.
In the dialog’s text area, revise your copy.
Character count: Aim for ≤ 160 characters to stay within one SMS credit.
Click Update to save your changes.
The Last Updated timestamp refreshes automatically.
