How to Navigate the ‘Podcast Categories’ Page of the Streams and Media Module in the Admin Portal

  1. Log In – Make sure you’re signed into your ChurchPad account.

  2. Click your Profile Icon at the top right.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select "Admin"

  4. You are now in the Admin Portal.

  5. From the left sidebar menu, click on “Streams and Media”.

  6. Click ‘Podcast’ under the Streams and Media menu. You will land on the Categories tab which contains a list of current podcast categories.


Adding a New Category

  1. Click “Add Category” (usually at the top-right).

  2. A form labeled “Add Category” will appear:

    1. Enter Category Name (e.g. “Prayer,” “Sermons,” etc.).

    2. Description (optional) to briefly explain what this category is about.

  3. Click “Add Category” (or Save) to confirm.


Exploring the Categories Listing

When you’re on the Categories tab, you’ll see a table with columns such as:

  1. Name: The category’s title (e.g., Prayer, Sermons).

  2. Description: A summary of what the category is about.

  3. Total Episodes: How many episodes have been added to this category?

  4. Actions: A dropdown to manage the Category (View Category, Add Episode to Category, Edit Category, Delete Category)

Search & Filter

  1. At the top is a search bar labeled “Type to search…” Use this to quickly find a category by name.

  2. If your version supports filters, you can click on any filter icon next to the search bar to narrow down results (e.g., by date created, alphabetical order, etc.).

  1. If you have many categories, you may see pagination controls at the bottom (e.g., “Next” or page numbers). Use these to move through multiple pages of categories.


Viewing a Category & Its Episodes

  1. In the Categories list, find the category you want to explore.

  2. Click the “View” button (or the three-dot menu labeled Actions) next to the category name.

  3. Select “View Category.”

  4. A new screen/popup shows all Episodes under this category with columns like Episode Name, Duration, Date Published, etc.

  5. Use the Search bar at the top to find a specific episode quickly if you have many episodes.


Adding Episodes to a Category

  1. While viewing a category (the list of episodes), look for an “Add Episode” button (top-right).

  2. You’ll see an “Add Episode” form:

    1. Episode Title: e.g., “State of Christianity in New York.”

    2. Duration: Enter hours and minutes.

    3. Category: This should match the category you’re adding it to.

    4. Date Published: Select the date and time.

    5. Audio File Upload: Drag and drop or browse for your audio file (10 MB max, if that limit applies).

    6. Description: Provide a summary or notes.

  3. Click “Save” to create the new episode.


Editing an Existing Category

  1. Click the dropdown menu located in the action column beside the category name in the main Categories list.

  2. Select “Edit Category.”

  3. A form labeled “Edit Category” appears:

    1. Change the Category Name or Description as needed.

  4. Click “Update” to confirm changes.

Deleting a Category

  1. In the main Categories list, click the Actions button next to the category.

  2. Select “Delete Category.”

  3. A confirmation popup appears: “Are you sure you want to delete this category?”

  4. Click “Delete Category” to confirm (this typically removes the category but does not necessarily delete the episodes in it, depending on your setup).

  5. To cancel, click “Go Back” (or close the popup).


Managing Episodes in a Category

When you view a category, each episode has an Actions menu (or “View” drop-down), typically with:

  1. View Details: See the episode’s duration, description, publish date, and audio player.

  2. Edit Episode: Make changes to the episode’s title, date, audio file, etc.

  3. Remove from Category: Detach the episode from the category (but not delete it entirely).

Tip: If you want to permanently remove an episode, check if there is a separate “Delete” option or do so from the “Episodes” tab (depending on your system settings).
