How to Navigate the ‘Overview’ Page of the Contribution Module in the Admin Portal

  1. Log In – Make sure you’re signed into your ChurchPad account.

  2. Click your Profile Icon at the top right.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select "Admin"

  4. You are now in the Admin Portal.

  5. From the left-hand sidebar, click Contributions to expand its menu.

  6. Select Overview to open the main summary of all contributions.

Key Metrics at the Top

Across the top of the Overview page, you’ll see key financial indicators such as:

  1. Total Contributions: The cumulative sum of all recorded contributions (e.g., “$117,684.84”).

  2. Monthly Recurring: How much of your contributions recur on a monthly basis (e.g., “$0.00” if none).

  3. Weekly Recurring: The amount that recurs weekly (e.g., “$97.77”), along with any percentage increase or decrease from a prior period.

  4. Daily Contribution: A snapshot of daily giving.

Tip: These figures help you gauge both your one-time and recurring giving patterns. They often update in real-time as new contributions come in.

Contributions by Category Type (Pie Chart)

Below the key metrics, a pie chart (sometimes labeled “Contributions by Category Type”) shows the distribution of total contributions by category (e.g., Tithe, Offering, Thanksgiving, Missions, Prayers, etc.).

  1. Pie Slice Hover: Hovering over each slice displays that category’s name and percentage of the total (e.g., “Thanksgiving: 78.68%”).

  2. Legend: A legend beside the chart lists categories and percentages.

  3. Filtering: Use the drop-down menu (often labeled All) to filter by a specific timeframe (e.g., last 30 days, last year, custom date range).

Tip: This pie chart is an excellent way to see at a glance which categories draw the most contributions over the selected period.

Contributions by Source (Pie Chart)

If present, a separate pie chart might display “Contributions by Source” (e.g., Stripe Test Bank, Visa, MasterCard, Link, or Unknown).

  1. Interpretation: This helps you see the payment methods or platforms donors use the most.

  2. Hover to View Details: Hovering on a slice shows the exact percentage and label (e.g., “Stripe Test Bank: 80.57%”).

Last Few Months / Last 1 Year Contributions (Bar Charts)

These charts illustrate contributions over the past year, typically broken down by month:

  1. Bar Hover Details: Hovering over a bar often shows the specific month and the total contribution amount (e.g., “November: $106,233.30”).

  2. Multiple Categories: In some charts, each bar may be subdivided into categories (e.g., Tithe, Offering, Missions), so you can see how each category contributed to the monthly total.

Tip: Use these visuals to identify seasonal trends or months with unusually high or low giving.

Past Years Contributions Comparison (Line Chart)

Another chart may compare year-to-year contributions in a line-graph format, where each year is represented by a different color:

  1. Year Selector: You might see labels at the top (e.g., 2020, 2021, 2024, 2025).

  2. Hover Data: Hovering over a point displays the exact month, year, and contribution value (e.g., “August 2020: $1,640.00”).

  3. Purpose: Quickly see if your giving totals are growing or declining from one year to another at the same point in the calendar.

Chart Interactions (Filtering, Exporting, Printing)

Next to many charts, you’ll find small icons or menus:

  1. Date Range (drop-down labeled “All” or “Custom”)

    1. Select a different timeframe (week, month, year, custom range) to refresh the chart data.

  2. Download/Export (down-arrow icon)

    1. Export the chart data (e.g., PNG) for offline analysis or presentations.

  3. Print (printer icon)

    1. Print the chart directly from your browser.

Tip: These tools are handy for creating quick reports to share with leadership or for board meetings.
