Automated Greetings

How to Navigate the ‘Automated Greetings’ Page in the ' People Module in the Admin Portal

  1. Log In – Make sure you’re signed into your ChurchPad account.

  2. Click your Profile Icon at the top right.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select "Admin"

  4. You are now in the Admin Portal.

  5. From the left sidebar menu, click on “People”.

  6. Under the People menu, select the ‘Birthdays and Wedding Anniversaries’ option. You will be taken to a page with multiple tabs across the top: Birthday Celebrations, Wedding Anniversaries, Templates, Automated Greetings.

  7. Click on Automated Greetings to see the current list of automated messages.


Explore the Automated Greetings List

  1. You will see a table that typically includes:

    1. Celebration Type (Birthdays or Wedding Anniversary)

    2. Daily Schedule (the time of day the greeting will be sent)

    3. Message (Communication Type: SMS, Email, MMS, Voice, or Push)

    4. Created By and Created Date

    5. Actions (where you can edit, test, or delete an automated greeting)

  2. Use the Type to search … bar at the top to locate a specific automated greeting by name or keyword.


Add a New Automated Greeting

  1. Click the + Add Automated Greeting button in the top-right corner.

  2. A form or modal will appear, prompting you to fill in:

    1. Select Celebration Type: Choose Birthday Celebration or Wedding Anniversary.

    2. Communication Type: Pick Email, SMS, Voice, MMS, or Push Notification.

    3. Template Name or Fields for creating a new template:

      1. Sender Name / Sender Email (for Email or MMS).

      2. Subject (if Email/Push).

      3. Message (you can include placeholders like {FIRSTNAME}, {FULLNAME}, etc.).

      4. Time to Send: Select the daily send time (e.g., 7:00 AM).

      5. Banner Image (optional; for Email or Push).

  3. Once finished, click Add Automated Greeting (or Save) to save your new automation.

  4. You’ll be returned to the main Automated Greetings list, now showing your newly created greeting.


Test an Automated Greeting

  1. In the Actions column next to the greeting you want to test, click the dropdown and choose Test Automated Greeting.

  2. A “Search User to Test Automated Greeting” sidebar/modal will appear:

    1. Type a user’s name or select one from the displayed list.

    2. (Optional) Create a new member on-the-fly if needed.

  3. Click Test once the desired user is selected.

  4. A confirmation dialog will appear (e.g., “Are you sure you want to test Automated Greeting for … ?”).

  5. Click Test Greeting to send a one-time, immediate test message.

  6. You’ll usually see a success or confirmation message after sending.


Edit an Automated Greeting

  1. In the Actions column, click Edit Template (sometimes labeled Edit).

  2. A form/modal similar to the “Add Automated Greeting” screen will appear:

    1. Adjust the Celebration Type, Communication Type, or the Time to Send.

    2. Update the Message text, placeholders, or images.

  3. Click Save to confirm your changes.

  4. The updated settings will take effect immediately for future automated sends.


Delete an Automated Greeting

  1. In the Actions column, click Delete (dropdown menu → Delete).

  2. A confirmation dialog will pop up (e.g., “Are you sure you want to delete this greeting?”).

  3. Click Remove Automated Greeting to permanently delete it or Go Back to cancel.
