Membership Types

How to Navigate the ‘Membership Types’ Page of the People Module in the Admin Portal

  1. Log In – Make sure you’re signed into your ChurchPad account.

  2. Click your Profile Icon at the top right.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select "Admin"

  4. You are now in the Admin Portal.

  5. From the left sidebar menu, click on “People”.

  6. Under the People menu, select the ‘Membership Types’ option.


Membership Types Table

You’ll see a list of existing membership types with columns like:

  1. Membership Type

  2. Member Count (number of people in that category)

  3. Created Date

  4. Actions (View, Edit, Add Member, Delete)


  1. At the top of the list, use the Type to search … bar to find a specific membership type by name.

  2. The table updates automatically with your search.


Add a New Membership Type

  1. Click the + Add Membership Type button in the top-right corner.

  2. A sidebar or modal labeled Add a New Membership Type will appear:

    1. Membership Type: Enter the new category name (e.g., “Volunteer,” “Online Member,” etc.).

    2. If you see a warning (“Provided membership type already exists”), it means that name is already in use. Try a different, unique name.

  3. Click Add Membership to confirm.

  4. A success message typically appears, and the new membership type is added to the list.


View Members

  1. In the Actions column next to a membership type, click View or View Members.

  2. A Member panel or page appears, typically showing:

    1. A filter (e.g., Membership Type: Member) at the top.

    2. A table of all people under that membership type, including Name, Phone, Contributions (if applicable), Created At date, and a “Has Church App” column.

    3. Actions (e.g., Details ).

  3. You can also Download or Export this list (CSV/Excel) by clicking the Download button


Add Members to a Membership Type

  1. From the main Membership Types list, in the Actions column, choose Add Member. Alternatively, in the ‘View Members’ page, you can select Add User.

  2. A pop-up (or sidebar) will let you search for an existing user by name.

  3. Select the user and click Add User to finalize.

  4. This person is immediately assigned to the chosen membership type.


Edit a Membership Type

  1. In the Actions column, select Edit Membership Type.

  2. A sidebar/modal labeled Edit Membership Type appears:

    1. Old Membership Name: Shows the current name.

    2. New Membership Name: Enter the updated name.

    3. If you see an error (“Provided membership type already exists”), pick a different, unique name.

  3. Click Add Membership to confirm your changes.

  4. The updated name appears in the main list.


Delete a Membership Type

  1. In the Actions column, click Delete.

  2. A confirmation dialog will appear, e.g., “Are you sure you want to remove this membership type? This action cannot be undone.”

  3. Click Remove Membership Type (or Continue) to proceed, or Go Back if you change your mind.

  4. Once deleted, the membership type is removed from the system. However, you cannot delete any membership type currently in use [ w/ users associated with it]
